Angiolini, Giuseppina (c. 1800–?)
Italian ballet dancer. Name variations: Giuseppina Angiolini-Cortesi. Born c. 1800, in Italy, possibly Milan; death date unknown; probably dau. of Pietro Angiolini (choreographer); m. Antonio Cortesi, c. 1824.
Appeared at Teatro alla Scala, Milan, in works by Pietro Angiolini and Domenico Rossi (c. 1813–20); appeared at theaters throughout Italy, including in Cremona, Sinigalia, Teatro Reggio in Turin, and Canobbiano in Milan (1810s–20s); danced as prima ballerina at Teatro Reggio and was director of its ballet school; best known for dancing in early works by Cortesi, including Il Castello del Diavolo (1826), Don Chisciotte (1827), and Aladino (1827).
