American undersecretary of the Treasury. Name variations: Bette Anderson Wood. Born in Savannah, Georgia, c. 1929.

Served as president of the National Association of Bank Women (1976); appointed undersecretary to the Treasury by President Jimmy Carter (1977); while in Washington, managed a budget of $5 billion; introduced the Susan B. Anthony dollar coin (1979).
