American composer and pianist. Born 1950 in Lexington, Kentucky; studied under John Cage, Robert Ashley, and Terry Riley.
Worked as a concert pianist and accompanist; founded and co-edited EAR magazine (1973–79); was a performing member of Hysteresis (1973–75), a women composers' group; best known for her opera Queen Christina (1973).
