Trichospermum (family Tiliaceae) A genus of small trees that have flattish sprays of leaves, fibrous bark (used for cordage), and twigs with stipule scars. The flowers are held in cymes, and are pentamerous. The fruit is capsular. There are 36 species, occurring from the Nicobar Islands to the western Pacific and tropical America.
