Trichomonadida (superclass Mastigophora, class Zoomastigophorea) An order of protozoa which are not bilaterally symmetrical and which have four-six flagella. The cells swim with a jerky motion. There are several families. Most are harmless parasites which live in the intestinal or reproductive systems of vertebrates.
