Paxillus (order Boletales) A genus of fungi in which the spores are borne on gills and in masses appear yellowish-brown to olive-brown. P. involutus is mushroom-shaped, with a brown pileus and stipe; the rim of the cap is characteristically inrolled. This species, which is poisonous, is very common in broad-leaved woods and on acid heathland.
