Daedalea (family Polyporaceae) A genus of fungi in which elongated, mazelike pores occur on the underside of a thick, brown, hoof-shaped, corky or woody fruit body. In D. quercina the upper surface is greyish-brown, often with concentric bands or furrows. This species is common throughout the year on stumps of oak and other trees.
