?OGLAH

?OGLAH (Heb. ???????), moshav in central Israel, in the ?efer Plain, affiliated with Tenu'at ha-Moshavim, founded in 1933 by experienced agricultural workers. Citriculture, dairy cattle, poultry, flowers, subtropical orchards, and plant nurseries constituted the moshav's main farming branches. In 1969, its population numbered 189, rising to 280 in 2002. Recently the moshav became a partner in a joint venture with Kibbutz Ein Ha-?oresh and *Mekorot to sell water from private wells to the Israeli Water Authority. The name ?oglah refers to the ?efer Plain, the biblical Hoglah being the granddaughter of Hepher (Num. 26:33; Josh. 17:3).
