Xerophagia
Xerophagia (Gk., dry nourishment). An intensification, in E. Churches, of the Lenten fast during the beginning (Monday to Thursday) of Holy Week. Water is allowed, but otherwise only bread, onions, and salt, with herbs and garlic.
