Kaṇāda

Kaṇāda (c.2nd cent. BCE). Hindu philosopher who according to tradition founded the Vaiśeṣika system (darśana). The Vaiśeṣika-sūtra is attributed to him. He is also known as Kaṇabhuj, etc., ‘atom delighter’, because of the atomic nature of the theory.
