Jñānakāṇḍa

Jñānakāṇḍa (Skt., ‘knowledge section’). Those portions, whether individual sentences or longer passages, of Vedic revelation (śruti) dealing with knowledge (jñāna), in which significant and authoritative statements are made concerning the nature of Brahman. The knowledge section of the Vedas is contrasted with the ‘action section’ (karmakāṇḍa).
