Chaupad

Chaupad (Pañjābī, ‘Four stanzas’). A poem of four stanzas. In the Ādi Granth, the Gurūs' chaupads, plus some hymns of two, three, five, and six stanzas, are grouped first in each rāg, followed by the aṣṭapadīs.
