Ganganagar
Ganganagar (gŭng´gänəgər), city (1991 pop. 161,482), Rajasthan state, NW India, on the Bikaner canal system, a major new irrigation project in the desert region bordering Pakistan. It is a district administrative center and a market for grain, oilseed, vegetables, sheep, and cattle. Since the 1970s the city has expanded as an agricultural distribution center. Leather goods are made and sugar is refined in Ganganagar.
