Supreme Court, Canadian Highest court of appeal in Canada, established in 1875. Its judgement became final when appeals to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council in London ended: for criminal cases in 1933, for civil cases in 1949. It sits in Ottawa, and consists of a chief justice and eight associated judges.
