Description:

Independent Roman Catholic, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1860. Setting: 75-acre small town campus. Educational spending 2003-04: $4072 per student. Total enrollment: 1,294. Faculty: 131 (46 full-time, 85 part-time). Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 14:1. 1,076 applied, 92% were admitted. 5% from top 10% of their high school class, 28% from top quarter, 62% from top half. Full-time: 940 students, 57% women, 43% men. Part-time: 146 students, 55% women, 45% men. Students come from 24 states and territories, 6 other countries, 28% from out-of-state, 0.1% Native American, 3% Hispanic, 6% black, 1% Asian American or Pacific Islander, 1% international, 15% 25 or older, 77% live on campus, 11% transferred in. Collegiate Environment:

Community Environment:

The University is located in a residential section of Quincy, a city of 50,000, located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River. It is within easy traveling distance of St. Louis (2 1/2 hours), Kansas City (4 hours), and Chicago (4 hours).
