American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of a student active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must have received the Eagle Scout Award and the religious emblem awarded by his religious institution; have demonstrated practical citizenship in church, school, Scouting, and the community; son or grandson of an American Legion or American Legion Auxiliary member; or must be a member of a Scouting unit chartered to a Legion post, an Auxiliary unit, or a Sons of the American Legion squadron. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Funds Avail.: $10,000 and $2500. Number Awarded: One recipient and three second placers. To Apply: Applicants must complete and file the nomination form. Deadline: March 1.

Rick Arkans Eagle Scout Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of a student active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing; have earned the Eagle Scout Award; have earned the Ner Tamid or Etz Chaim religious emblem; active in a synagogue; have demonstrated practical citizenship in the synagogue, school, Scouting unit, and community; have demonstrate financial need; and be enrolled in an accredited high school and in his final year. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Funds Avail.: $1000. Number Awarded: 1. To Apply: Applicants must submit a complete application. Deadline: February 28.

Birmingham-Southern College Eagle Scout Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an incoming freshmen at the Birmingham Southern College; and an Eagle Scout. Criteria: Selection.

Funds Avail.: $2500 per year. To Apply: Applicant must forward a letter of interest and student resume at the BSC Admissions Office. Deadline: January 15.

Emmett J. Doerr Memorial Distinguished Scout Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of high school seniors who are currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be outstanding Catholic high-school seniors currently registered and active in Boy Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing; have earned the Eagle Scout Award or the Silver Award; have earned the Ad Al-tare Dei or Pope Pius XII religious emblem; have held a Scouting leadership position; and have served in parish. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Funds Avail.: $1000-$2500. Number Awarded: 3. To Apply: Applicants must submit a complete application. Deadline: April 1.

Dofflemyer Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an Eagle Scout entering Stanford University. Criteria: Selection is based on a family’s demonstrated need.

Funds Avail.: Varies. To Apply: Applicants must follow the university’s standard application process. Deadline: February 1.

Eastern Orthodox Scouting Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of a student active in Scouting, Varsity Scouting, or Venturing. Focus: General

studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be registered and active in Boy Scouting or Girl Scouting; must have earned the Eagle Scout Award (Boy Scouts) or the Gold Award (Girl Scouts); active in an Eastern Orthodox church; have earned the Alpha Omega religious emblem; and enrolled in an accredited high school, in the final year. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $1000. Number Awarded: 3. To Apply: Applicants must submit four letters of recommendation with the application. Deadline: May 1.

Epsilon Tau Pi’s Soaring Eagle Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an Eagle Scout entering as freshman at the University of Dayton; have demonstrated leadership ability in Scouting, and has a strong record of community participation beyond Scouting; have a SAT score of at least 1600 or an ACT score of at least 25. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Gaebe Eagle Scout Awards (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering as freshman at Johnson and Wales University and must be an Eagle Scout. Criteria: Selection is based on the application, proof of Eagle Scout status, and high school transcript.

Funds Avail.: $1000. To Apply: Applications are available at JWU’s NSO Office; submit application and a transcript of grades to the NSO Office. Deadline: February 1.

Remarks: The scholarship may be used at JWU’s campuses in Providence, R.I.; North Miami, Fla.; Denver, Colo.; and Charlotte, N.C. Awarded by Johnson and Wales University, Providence, R.I. Gold Award/Eagle Scout Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of a boy and girl scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must have a high-school core GPA of at least 2.5 as calculated by Mississippi State University, or at least 48 hours of transferable community college course credit with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5; a Mississippi resident or have received the Eagle Scout Award or Gold Award in a Mississippi-based Scouting council. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Funds Avail.: $1000 ($500 per semester). To Apply: Applicants must follow the university’s standard application process. Deadline: August 1.

Zenon C.R. Hansen Leadership Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be a full-time Doane College student who is an Eagle Scout; active in the Boy Scouts of America, and planning to remain active in Scouting and leadership activities. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Arthur M. and Berdena King Eagle Scout Scholarships (High School/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support the education of Eagle Scouts. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be Eagle Scouts currently registered in Scouting and have not reached their 19th birthday. Criteria: Selection is based on the application.

Funds Avail.: $8000, $4000, and $2000. Number Awarded: 3. To Apply: applicants must submit a completed application form together with the Four Generation ancestor chart, and the 500-word essay. Deadline: Varies by state and chapter.

Remarks: Awarded by the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Contact: Contact the SAR department in their state.

Lamar University College of Engineering Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: Engineering. Qualif.: Applicant must be a Lamar University undergraduate student, including entering freshmen, majoring in chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, or mechanical engineering. Criteria: Preference is given to an Eagle Scout student.

Purpose: To assist the education of a boy and girl scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an Eagle Scout or a Girl Scout (Gold Award winners) with a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale; a first-time freshmen at Newman University; full-time student and maintains a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25; and active in one or more campus organization each year. Criteria: Selection is based on the committee’s review on the applications.

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an Eagle Scout student admitted at Saint Vincent College. Criteria: All Eagle Scout student will be qualified.

Purpose: To assist the education of an Eagle Scout student. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an incoming freshmen; a resident of Kentucky or Indiana; achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Lincoln Heritage Council, Blue Grass Council, Shawnee Trails Council, Dan Beard Council, orTri-State Area Council; have a minimum high-school GPA of 3.35 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum score of 24 on the ACT or 1090 on the SAT-I.
