Academic Promise Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: Art; Science. Qualif.: Applicant must hold an associate of arts, science, or applied science at any Ivy Tech campus or at Vincennes University; have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $2000. To Apply: Student must indicate in the admission application the specific Ivy Tech campus attended. Deadline: Must be admitted before June 1 (fall semester) or December 1 (spring semester). Contact: admissions@indstate.edu.

Warren M. Anderson Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University; belongs to the top 30 percent of the high school; or have a GPA of 3.0. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Funds Avail.: $1200. To Apply: Applicant must submit an a list of high school/community accomplishments/activities, and a letter of recommendation from a high school councilor, civic leader, principal, or minister. Deadline: Must be admitted before March 1. Contact: admissions@ indstate.edu.

Child of Alumni Book Voucher Awards (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of a dependent of an alumni. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University and a dependent of an alumni. Criteria: Selection is based on high school class rank, GPA, rigor of curriculum, academic achievement, and extra curricular activities.

Funds Avail.: $500 ($250 in fall and another in spring). To Apply: Student must state that he/she is a dependent of an alumni in the admission application. Deadline: Must be admitted before March 1. Contact: admissions@ indstate.edu.

Gongaware Scholarships College of Business (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: Insurance and insurance-related; Risk management.

Qualif.: Applicant must have a competitive GPA, class rank, SAT/ACT; majoring in insurance and risk management; and entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Funds Avail.: $2500, notebook computer, and professionals development account. To Apply: For application, call 812237-8633. Deadline: Must be admitted before December 1.

Remarks: Scholar will participate in two summer internship, be assigned an industry mentor, participate in an international experience, and be offered opportunities in developing leadership skills. Scholarship is funded by Don and Patricia Gongaware. Contact: admissions@ indstate.edu.

Indiana State Alumni Association Creative and Performing Arts Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: Art; Music; English language and literature; Theater arts. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University; majoring or have a minor in Art, Music, English, Physical Education (Dance), Theater. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Funds Avail.: $2000. To Apply: Applicant must submit an application form; portfolio review; must audition at the departments; and will be interview. Contact the department where the applicant is majoring. Deadline: Must be admitted before February 1. Indiana State Alumni Association Dean’s Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must rank in the top 25 percent of the high school class; or have a GPA of 3.5; accepted at the Indiana State University campus as a freshmen. Criteria: selection is based on academic achievement.

Funds Avail.: $2000. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. Deadline: Must be admitted before February 1.

Indiana State Alumni Association Incentive Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be an out-of-state freshman; have a 3.0 GPA; has a competitive SAT/ACT scores and class rank. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $4000 (out-of-state tuition). To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. Deadline: Must be admitted before June 1.

Remarks: No additional application required. Students eligible for the Southern Illinois Free Waiver and reside in the 20 Illinois counties and not eligible for the award. Contact: admissions@indstate.edu.

Indiana State Alumni Association President’s Academic Excellence Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Student must belong to the top ten percent of the high school class; have a GPA of 3.7; a high school graduate entering freshmen; studying 12 or more credit hours per semester; and accepted at the Indiana State University campus. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Funds Avail.: Full tuition. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. Deadline: Must be admitted before December 1.

Indiana State Alumni Association President’s Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Student must belong to the top ten percent of the high school class; have a GPA of 3.7; a high school graduate entering freshmen; studying 12 or more credit hours per semester; and accepted at the Indiana State University campus. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Funds Avail.: Full tuition, room and board, books and supplies, personal laptop computer. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. Deadline: Must be admitted before December 1.

Indiana State Alumni Association Rural Health Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To prepare and support student from rural Indiana to return in their hometown as a primary care physician. Focus: Physiology. Qualif.: Applicant must have a GPA of 3.5; scoring a combined 1200 in Critical Reading (CR) and Mathematics (M) sections of the SAT or 27 on the ACT; and resides in rural Indiana. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Remarks: To complete the program, scholar must maintain an average GPA of 3.5. Contact: admissions@ indstate.edu.

Indiana State Alumni Association Transfer Student Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA with a minimum of 32 transferable semester hours. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $1500. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. The application for admission serves as the scholarship application. Deadline: Must be admitted before June 1 (fall semester) or December 1 (spring semester).

Indiana Top Scholar Award (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University; ranking first to fifth in their senior class; have a GPA of 3.0; and have academic honors diplomas. Criteria: Qualified students are guaranteed for the scholarship.

Funds Avail.: $4000. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. Deadline: Must be admitted before March 1.

Lilly Fellow Scholarships (Undergraduate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To provide students unique opportunities in experimental learning. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 with 32 transferable credit hours. Criteria: Selection is based on academic excellence and community leadership.

Funds Avail.: $5000. To Apply: Applicants must submit an essay on their interest of being a Lilly Fellow; a letter of recommendation; and a resume.

Remarks: A fellow will be working with a faculty mentor on research, community service, outreach and Lilly Fellow activities. Contact: University Center for Public Service and Community Engagement, 812-237-7900.

Networks Scholarships College of Business (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: Finance. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University. Criteria: Selection is based on academic and personal accomplishments.

Funds Avail.: Full tuition, notebook computer, and professional development account. To Apply: For application, call 812237-8633. Deadline: Must be admitted before December 1.

Remarks: Scholar will participate in a paid internship, attend leadership-development activities, have an international experience, and will be mentored. Contact: admissions@indstate.edu.

Noyce Scholarships for Secondary Math and Science Education (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: Education, Secondary; Science; Mathematics and mathematical sciences. Qualif.: Applicant must be a transfer student with a GPA of 2.75 in all science and mathematics work. Criteria: Selection is based on merits.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: Art; Science. Qualif.: Applicant must hold an associate of arts, science, or applied science; have a minimum GPA of 3.5; and a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. Criteria: Selection is based on merit.

Funds Avail.: $4000. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. In addition, student must provide a documentation of honor society membership and a letter of recommendation together with the admission application. Deadline: Must be admitted before June 1 (fall semester) or December 1 (spring semester). Contact: admissions@indstate.edu.

Sycamore Scholar Awards (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To support educational pursuit of students. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicant must be entering college as freshmen at the Indiana State University; belongs to the top ten percent of their graduating class; have a minimum of 3.0 GPA; and have completed academic honors diploma. Criteria: Qualified students are guaranteed for the scholarship.

Funds Avail.: Half the cost of in-state tuition. To Apply: Student must be admitted to the Indiana State University and will be automatically qualified for the scholarship. Deadline: Must be admitted before March 1.

Remarks: No additional application required. Recipients will be disqualified for the Indiana Top Scholar Award. Contact: admissions@indstate.edu.
