Eligibility Requirements: This program is open to California residents who are members of the Order of the Eastern Star and 1) graduating high school seniors entering their first year of college or university, 2) students who have started college but need financial aid to continue, and 3) those who have not been able to go directly from high school to college. U.S. citizenship is required. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They may be attending or planning to attend a college, university, community college, or trade school in California, although consideration is given to students applying for out-of-state schools. Along with their application, they must submit brief essays on their educational goals, reasons for choice of schools, reasons for applying for financial aid, and what they understand the Order of Eastern Star to be. Eligibility Requirements: Eligible to apply for these loans are undergraduate or graduate school students who are U.S. citizens and have completed at least 2 years of work at an accredited college or university. Loans are granted without regard to race, sex, creed, residence, university major, age, or marital status, as long as a need for the loan exists and applicants are capable of repayment. However, it should be noted that the general policy is to only loan to students who will begin earning money and repaying the loan within 2 years. It operates a program called the EGBAR Clean-Up Challenge to encourage elementary school children to run environmental clean-ups at beaches, parks, and schools. Every year it selects a high school student to serve as its ambassador. The student should embody the essence of the foundation's acronym, "Everything's Gonna Be All Right." Eligibility Requirements: This program is open to graduating high school students (or the equivalent) who are U.S. citizens and residents within the jurisdiction of the B.P.O. Elks of the U.S.A. Applicants must be planning to work on a 4-year degree on a full-time basis at a college or university within the United States. They must submit an official form furnished by the Elks National Foundation (no photocopies); these are available at local Elks Lodges. Applications must be filed with the scholar-ship chair, Exalted Ruler, or secretary of the Elks Lodge in whose jurisdiction the applicant resides. Applications are reviewed by Lodge and District scholarship committees and then judged by the scholarship committee of the State Elks Association for inclusion in the state's quota of entries in the national competition. On the national level, selection is based on financial need (200 points), leadership (350 points), and scholarship (450 points). Male and female students compete separately. To provide college funding to high school juniors with outstanding business and leadership potential.

Title of Award: Executive Women International Scholarship Program Area, Field, or Subject: Business administration Level of Education for which Award is Granted: Four Year College Number Awarded: 6 national winners are selected each year. Funds Available: Stipends are $10,000 for the first-place winner, $6,000 for the second-place winner, $4,000 for the third-place winner, and $2,000 for finalists. These funds are paid to the winners' colleges. Local and district winners also receive scholarships (generally under $2,000). A total of $150,000 is distributed through this program each year. Duration: The scholarship funds are disbursed over a period of no more than 5 years.

Eligibility Requirements: High school juniors attending public, private, and parochial schools located in Executive Women International (EWI) chapter cities are eligible to compete for this scholarship, if they are interested in majoring in business at a 4-year college or university. Because this program targets business students, those planning careers in medicine, law, art, social welfare, political science, or related fields are not eligible to compete. Each high school within the territorial boundaries of a participating EWI chapter may submit the name of 1 junior class student for the local competition. Students are required to submit a notebook (which includes a student application, autobiographical essay, and list of honors and awards) to their EWI chapter. A sponsoring teacher is also required to submit an endorsement, a transcript of the student's grades, and 1 personal reference. Competing students are interviewed by local judges. Winners then submit their notebooks for competition on the district level. Notebooks and videotaped interviews of the 15 district winners are reviewed by the semifinals' judges and 3 winners (plus 2 alternates) are selected as winners. The winners and their sponsoring teachers receive an all-expense paid trip to the EWI annual meeting, where they compete for first-, second-, and third-place awards. Selection is based on scholastic achievement, honors and awards, ability to work well with others, citizenship, leadership qualities, proven dependability and responsibility, communication skills, and extracurricular activities. Deadline for Receipt: Applications must be received by local chapters by the end of March so they can select their winners by mid-April. Districts complete their judging by mid-May. The final judging is completed by mid-July.
