Henry S. and Carolyn Adams Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide educational assistance for deserving students with financial need who are residents of Union County, NC. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale); must be legal residents of Union County, NC; must be nominated by the principal of their high school; and must demonstrate a substantial need for financial assistance. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on academic achievement; school and community involvement and personal achievements.

Herb Adrian Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for students at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte who have expressed an interest in the multi-family housing field.

Focus: Engineering; Mathematics and mathematical sciences; Science; Computer and information sciences; Accounting; Finance; Business administration. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at a North or South Carolina high school; must attend a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina; must plan to major in engineering, computer science, the sciences, accounting, finance or business administration. Criteria: Applicants are judged based on grade point average; residence; leadership skills and financial need.

William Tasse Alexander Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for undergraduate students from Mecklenburg County, NC, primarily in the field of education. Focus: Education. Qualif.: Applicants must be legal residents of Mecklenburg County, NC who are matriculating full-time juniors or seniors in college; must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and must be majoring in the field of education or taking courses leading to a career in teaching. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance; school and community involvement and personal achievements; and demonstrated potential for a career as an educator.
Funds Avail.: $1,000 to $3,500. Andersen Nontraditional Scholarship for Women's Education and Retraining (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial support and encouragement for adult women age 25 and older who are raising school-age children (grades K-12) and hope to earn a two-year nursing degree or a four-year undergraduate degree in the field of their choice. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be nontraditional female students age 25 or older at the time of the application deadline; legal residents
of Mecklenburg County, NC or contiguous county in North Carolina or South Carolina; enrolled or planning to enroll as full-time, degree-seeking students at an accredited institution in North Carolina or South Carolina. Criteria: Applicants who are single parents are given preference, with the following basis criteria: financial need as determined by the costs of college attendance compared with an applicants' household income and other financial factors; demonstrated potential for academic success.

Purpose: To provide financial support for undergraduate students who have expressed an interest in business through their service to Junior Achievement in Atlanta, GA. Focus: Business; Technology. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale). Parents or legal guardians of applicants must be employees who have completed at least two years (24 months) of full-time service with Hanes Companies, Inc. USA prior to the application deadline. Julian E. Carnes Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for students at Clemson University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte who are preparing for a career in a technological field appropriate to meet the requirements of the U.S. Patent Office as a patent agent or attorney. Focus: Engineering; Chemistry; Physics; Biology; Computer and information sciences. Qualif.: Applicants must be legal residents of North or South Carolina; must be rising juniors or seniors at Clemson University or UNC Charlotte whose academic major is appropriate to meet the requirements of the U.S. Patent Office for admission as a patent agent or attorney (including but not limited to engineering, chemistry, physics, biology and computer science); and must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Carolina Panthers Scholarship Fund (Graduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide graduate level scholarships for athletes in North and South Carolina. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have earned an intercollegiate varsity letter in college; must be graduating senior athletes at an accredited North or South Carolina college or university; have minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; must receive a nomination for scholarship consideration from their current Athletic Director. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance; record of leadership and citizenship; school and community involvement and personal achievements.
Funds Avail.: $10,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit completed application form; official transcript; copy of score report from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) or other appropriate graduate admission test scores, if available; three recommendation forms which include one from a faculty member in major course of study, one from a member of the Athletic Department and one from another school official or other non-related individual familiar with the applicants' extracurricular and leadership involvement; and a typed double-spaced personal statement not to exceed 1,000 words expressing the reason for applying for the scholarship, involvement in athletics, and educational/career goals. Carolinas-Virginias Retail Hardware Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support the children of employees of member firms of the Carolinas-Virginias Region of the National Retail Hardware Association. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; whose parents or legally-appointed guardians are employees who have completed at least two years of full-time service with a member firm of the Carolinas-Virginias Region of the National Retail Hardware Association; children of employees shall be defined to include natural-born or legally-adopted dependent children and stepchildren and wards of employees. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement including grade point average and performance on tests designed to measure preparation and ability for postsecondary study; school and community involvement and personal achievements; work experience particularly in retail hardware.

Charlotte Housing Authority Scholarship Fund (CHASF) (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide educational assistance for young residents of housing owned or managed by the Charlotte Housing Authority. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of public housing owned or managed by the Charlotte Housing Authority. Applicants attending college, vocational or technical school for the first time must not be over 21 years of age as of September 1 of the school year for which the scholarship award is to be made; those who have previously attended a college, vocational or technical school must not be over 24 years of age as of September 1 of the school year for which the scholarship award is to be made. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on financial need; academic performance; personal achievements; school and community involvement; and commitment to and demonstrated potential for success in college, technical or vocational school.
Funds Avail.: $500 up to $3,400. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Scholarship Incentive Program (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide motivation and encouragement for Charlotte-Mecklenburg public high school students with financial need to stay in school, graduate and pursue post-secondary education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduating seniors at a Charlotte-Mecklenburg public high school; must be participants in the Communities In Schools ThinkCOLLEGE Program or the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools AVID Program; must be legal residents of Mecklenburg County, NC; and must have 2.5 minimum cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Criteria: Applicants will be evaluated based on financial need; academic/personal achievement; and school/community involvement.

Children's Scholarship Fund of Charlotte (High School/Scholarship)
Purpose: To assist children in grades K-8 intending to attend tuition-based schools which their families could not otherwise afford. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be legal resident children of Mecklenburg County, NC in grades K-8 attending or planning to attend a tuition-based school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. Cole Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship Program Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To increase the number of high school graduates from Richmond County, NC pursuing post-secondary education. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be legal residents of Richmond County, NC; must be high school seniors scheduled to graduate in the spring of the current school year. Students applying for four-year scholarships must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on 4.0 scale). Students applying for two-year scholarships must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). Criteria: Preference is given to applicants whose parents do not have a college degree and will be evaluated based on financial need; academic achievement; school and community involvement; and personal achievements.

Sally Cole Visual Arts Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Richmond County, NC students with demonstrated talent and career interests in the visual arts. Focus: Visual arts. Qualif.: Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year postsecondary institution with a degree program in visual arts; must be high school seniors in good academic standing scheduled to graduate in the spring of
the current school year; must have an expressed and demonstrated interest in the visual and/or studio arts which primarily includes, but are not limited to, painting, drawing, sculpture, illustration and ceramics; must be legal residents of Richmond County, NC. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement; school and community involvement and personal achievements; and demonstrated aptitude and career potential in the visual arts.

Judy Crocker Memorial Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for Winthrop University students with an interest in Education, Human Services and related majors. Focus: Education. Qualif.: Applicants must be legal residents of York County, SC who are rising juniors or seniors at Winthrop University, located in Rock Hill, SC, majoring in education, human services or a related field with 2.9 minimum cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and who demonstrate financial need. Crowder Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for children of employees of general contracting companies headquartered in Mecklenburg County, NC. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Children of employees are defined as natural-born or legally-adopted dependent children and stepchildren and wards of employees. Parents or legally-appointed guardians of applicants must have worked for their respective general contracting company for at least three years prior to the application deadline. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) is required. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on academic achievement; financial need; school and community involvement; and personal achievements. Preference will be given to children of employees of Crowder Construction Company.

The E.R. and Lilian B. Dimmette Scholarship Fund (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide financial assistance for undergraduate students who “fall between the cracks” of financial aid and/or scholarship programs. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be nominated by the Superintendent of Schools in their county; must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale); and must be legal residents of Gaston, Iredell, Mecklenburg, Rowan or Wilkes County, North Carolina. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on demonstrated substantial need for financial assistance.

Mary and Elliot Wood Foundation Graduate Scholarship Fund (Graduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide merit-based graduate scholarships for North Carolina students, primarily in Guilford, Moore and Randolph Counties. Focus: Humanities; Environmental science; Ecology; Nutrition; Economics; Peace Studies; Government; Education. Qualif.: Candidates must have received or been a candidate for a Mary and Elliott Wood undergraduate or graduate scholarship; must pursue fields of study most appropriate to the purpose of the Mary and Elliot Wood Foundation; and must have expressed their intention of professional pursuit in such fields as The Cultural Arts, Humanities and the Study of Civilizations, Conservation, City and Community Planning, Environmental Studies and Ecology, Environmentally Sensitive Energies, Organic Gardening and Nutrition, Economics, Peace and Prosperity, Political Science and Government and Education. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities and statement of personal goals and references.

ecological. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be students graduating from high schools in the districts in Guilford County, Davidson County, Randolph County, Moore County. Criteria: Applicants are evaluated based on personal character; leadership potential; and scholastic achievement.
