Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) Research Grants (All/Grant)
Purpose: To support research that is significant to the club management industry. Focus: Management. Qualif.: Applicants must submit a completed application; a detailed project description; a project budget narrative; and appendixes. Criteria: Candidates are evaluated by The Club Foundation Allocation Committee (CFAC) using the following criteria: a) problem conceptualization; b) research technique; c) contribution to the field; d) clarity and thoroughness; e) project budget.
Funds Avail.: $2,500. Number Awarded: 2-4. To Apply: Applicants must download application form from the CMAA website; the application, narrative and other required attachments must be typed using 12-point font and one-inch margins. CMAA Student Conference Travel Grants (All/Grant)
Purpose: To help student chapters offset the costs associated with attending the CMAA World Conference on Club Management. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be student chapters of CMAA. Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on the quality of application material submitted.
Funds Avail.: $500. Funds must be used for expenditures related to the CMAA Annual Conference. To Apply: Applicant student chapters must hold a fundraising event; submit a president's annual report; submit the current chapter budget; submit an application for the grant; and submit a grantee form stipulating that funds will be used for its intended purpose. Deadline: May 1.

Willmoore H. Kendall Scholarships (Postgraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To provide tuition support to assist club managers interested in pursuing the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation. Focus: Management. Qualif.: Candidate must be a CMAA member; an assistant manager; currently pursuing the CMMA designation; have at least one remaining BMI course to complete; must be nominated by their chapter. Criteria: Applicants who are recommended by The Club Foundation Allocation Committee and approved by The Club Foundation Board of Governors will be given preference.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must submit an official application form; a letter provided by the applicant's chapter supporting his/her application and must be signed by a chapter officer; a letter of recommendation from a member and the general manager of the applicant's club; a resume; an essay (500-1000 words) addressing the following components: a) Describe in detail your career objectives and goals; b) Detail the reason(s) you wish to pursue your CCM designation; c) What are your specific interests within the private club management field?; d) Select one characteristic of Mr. Kendall's with which you identify and explain why. Deadline: November 3.

Joe Perdue Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives. Focus: Management. Qualif.: Candidates must be pursuing managerial careers in the private club industry; must have completed freshman year of college and be enrolled for the full academic year in an accredited four-year institution; must have achieved and maintained a grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, or 4.5 on a 6.0 scale. Criteria: Applicants who are CMAA student chapter members are given additional points.
Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Candidates must submit an official application available from the website; a sealed copy of official college transcripts; a recommendation form and recommendation letter from a faculty advisor/professor and a private club industry professional; a resume; an essay (500-1000 words) addressing the following components: 1) your career objectives and goals; 2) the characteristics you possess that will enable you to succeed as a club manager; 3) your perception of CMAA and the private club industry; 4) your specific interests within the private club management field; 5) why you feel that you should be a Club Foundation Scholarship recipient.
