ABA Academic Merit Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To financially assist deserving students who has a potential to be future leaders in the transportation, travel, and tourism industry. Focus: Transportation; Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must completed first year of studies and majoring or have a course of study relevant to the transportation, travel, and tourism industry at an accredited university; must have a minimum of 3.4 GPA or higher. Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on their academic record, personal promise, character and financial need. Applicant affiliated with ABA-member companies will be given priority.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. Number Awarded: 2. To Apply: Application process is online (please visit the website). Applicants must also submit an essay (500 words) discussing the role they will play in advancing the future of the transportation, motorcoach, travel, and tourism/hospitality industry. ABA Diversity Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To promote understanding and to mobilize greater involvement in the transportation industry. Focus: Transportation; Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must completed first year of studies and majoring or have a course of study relevant to the transportation, travel, and tourism industry at an accredited university; must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA. Criteria: Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, character, leadership and financial need.

ABA Members Scholarships (ABA Bus and Tour Operators Only) (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Qualif.: Applicant must be a member or a dependent of ABA bus and tour member companies employed for at least one year; must be entering fist year of college, university, or professional training school by fall; must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA or an average of B. Criteria: Applicants will be selected based on their academic merit, community service, extracurricular activities, leadership, and anticipated financial need.

Peter L. Picknelly Honorary Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To honor the contribution of bus drivers, mechanics and maintenance personnel to the motorcoach industry. Focus: Transportation; Travel and tourism. Qualif.: Applicants must be a bus driver or maintenance personnel, or dependents of ABA operator members; must be in a technical school with two-years or more transportation-related education programs. Criteria: Recipients are selected on

the basis of academic merit, extra curricular activities and financial need.
