Thirsk, John

Thirsk, John (fl. 1420–d. 1452). English master-mason. He worked at Westminster Abbey, notably on the nave, and designed the beautiful Chantry Chapel of King Henry V (reigned 1413–22) as well as the great altar-screen (completed 1441). In 1449 he was appointed Master-Mason at Windsor Castle.
