Strauven, Gustave
Strauven, Gustave (1878–1919). Belgian architect, whose work in the Art Nouveau style was originally influenced by his brief spell (1896–7) in Horta's office. Among his best works are the Van Dyck House, Clovislaan (1899–1902), the extraordinarily exotic Saint-Cyr House, Ambiorixsquare (1900–2), and the Apartment-Block, Louis Bertrandlaan, Schaarbeek (1906), all in Brussels.
