Stow, Richard de

Stow, Richard de (fl. c.1270–1307). English mason. He was master-mason at the erection of the Eleanor Cross at Lincoln (1291–3—destroyed), and Master of the Fabric at Lincoln Cathedral from 1291. He built the belfry-stage of the Cathedral's crossing-tower from 1306/7 (completed 1311), one of the greatest Gothic structures in England.
