Pope, Richard (fl. c.1442). English freemason. He designed the tower of Dunster Church, Som., and was probably master-mason at St John's Hospital and Sherborne Abbey, Sherborne, Dorset (1440s): if this is the case, he was responsible for the design of the noble choir at the Abbey. Thomas and Walter Pope (probably related) worked at Exeter Cathedral in the first half of C15.
