Goddard, Henry Langton (1866–1944). English architect from Leicester, the son of Joseph Goddard. His most distinguished work was the basilican Church of St James the Greater, London Road, Leics. (1899–1914), a splendidly noble essay in the Italian Renaissance style. He designed many of the charming Arts-and-Crafts vernacular-revival houses at Horninghold, Leicestershire (1903–14), and was responsible for Gilroes Cemetery and Crematorium, Leicester (1901–2). He also designed the Carnegie Library, Kettering, Northants. (1903), and many commercial buildings in the Midlands of England.
