Fehling, Hermann (1909–96). German architect. He established a practice with Daniel Gogel (1927–97) in 1953 in Berlin. Their Max Planck Institute for Educational Research, Berlin-Dahlem (1965–74), and European Southern Observatory, Garching, near Munich (1976–80), suggest aspects of Expressionism and certain influences from Scharoun, but the firm's work is stylistically varied.
