SIDELIGHTS:

Ronald M. Shapiro told CA: "My primary motivation for writing is to teach both values and systems, primarily to business people. My work was influenced by my father and his value system, which was tied to being effective in business and, as importantly, to building strong relationships.

"My writing process involves having someone work with me who can probe my feelings and experiences on a particular subject. I have been inspired to write on the subjects I have chosen as a result of students and participants in seminars and presentations I have given asking that I do so."
