MULLIN, Michael (Albert) 1944-2003
OBITUARY NOTICE—See index for CA sketch: Born November 30, 1944, in Chicago, IL; died May 30, 2003 (one source says May 29, 2003), in Parkville, Victoria, Australia. Educator and author. Mullin was an English professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his undergraduate degree at the College of the Holy Cross in 1966, followed by a master's degree in 1970 and a Ph.D. in 1972 from Yale University. Mullin spent his entire academic career at the University of Illinois, where he began as an instructor in 1970 and became a full professor, retiring in 2000. He was especially interested in Shakespeare and theater history, but later in his career also delved into Web site development. His books regarding Shakespeare's plays include "Macbeth" Onstage: An Annotated Facsimile of Glen Byam Shaw's 1955 Promptbook (1976) and Theatre at Stratford-upon-Avon: A Catalogue-Index to Productions of the Shakespeare Memorial/Royal Shakespeare Theatre, 1879-1978 (1980). More recently, he completed All I Really Need to Know I Learned from the Mouse (2001) and Why Do We Love the Mouse? (2001).
