I quickly switched to English, failed creative writing, and was told 'never, never NEVER to consider a career in writing.' Thankfully, I didn't listen to the troll's advice. I am, more than anything, interested in humanity, not so much in man's inhumanity to man as in man's common bond, common feeling, common desires. I hope, through my future work, to accelerate man's return to a basic humanistic concern for his fellow man. I also … want to write 'everything there is to write.' I might not make it, but getting there should be quite interesting!"
