Viole, Rudolf
Viole, Rudolf, German pianist and composer; b. Schochwitz, Mansfeld, May 10, 1825; d. Berlin, Dec. 7, 1867. He was a pupil of R. Hentschel in Weissenfeis and of Liszt, who recommended his compositions and ed. his 100 études. He was active in Berlin as a piano teacher and writer on music. Viole wrote mostly for piano, including 11 sonatas, a Caprice héroїque,a Ballade, a Polonaise, etc.
