Sköld, (Karl) Yngve
Sköld, (Karl) Yngve, Swedish composer; b. Vallby, April 29, 1899; d. Stockholm, Dec. 6, 1992. He studied piano and composition in Stockholm (1915–18), then in Brno (1920–22) and Prague (1922). From 1938 to 1964 he was librarian of the Swedish Composers’ Society. His music blends Nordic Romanticism with subdued modernity.
