Simonis, Jean-Marie, Belgian composer; b. Mol, Nov. 22, 1931. He studied composition with Stekke, Souris, Louel, and Quinet, and conducting with Defossez at the Brussels Cons. He taught there (from 1969) and at the Uccles Academy of Music (from 1971).
