Sarly, Henry
Sarly, Henry, Belgian composer; b. Tirlemont, Dec. 28, 1883; d. Brussels, Dec. 3, 1954. He studied with his father and with Huberti, Tinel, Gilson, and Du Bois at the Brussels Cons.; in 1921 he became inspector of musical education in Belgian schools. He composed a number of attractive pieces, among them Scènes brabançonnes for Orch., Piano Quintet, Poème for Piano Trio, Violin Sonata, numerous piano pieces, and songs. He also publ, a manual, Cours théorique et pratique d’harmonie.
