Ryelandt, Joseph
Ryelandt, Joseph , Belgian composer and teacher; b. Bruges, April 7, 1870; d. there, June 29, 1965. He studied composition with Edgar Tinel. Thanks to a personal fortune (he was a baron), he did not have to earn a living by his music. He was director of the Bruges Cons. (1924–45) and a teacher at the Ghent Cons. (1929–39). He lived a very long life (obiit aet. 95) and composed much music.
