Pirck, Wenzel Raimund (Johann)
Pirck, Wenzel Raimund (Johann), Austrian organist, teacher, and composer; b. Vienna (baptized), June 27, 1718; d. there, July 17, 1763. He was a Hof-scholar (1726–39), and a pupil of Matteo Palotta. From 1739 he was court organist in Vienna, and was also active as a teacher. He composed 25 sinfonias, 12 sonatas for Strings, 16 string quartets, and keyboard music. He also publ.
