Moulaert, Raymond (Auguste Marie)

Moulaert, Raymond (Auguste Marie), Belgian pianist, teacher, and composer, father of Pierre Moulaert; b. Brussels, Feb. 4, 1875; d. there, Jan. 18, 1962. He studied at the Brussels Cons, with Arthur de Greef (piano) and Edgar Tinel (theory), and then was appointed to its staff and taught composition (from 1927). He concurrently was director of his own music school in St.-Gilles (1913–38), and also lectured at the Queen Elizabeth Chapel of Music in Brussels.
