Meyer-Siat, Pie
Meyer-Siat, Pie , French musicologist; b. Ribeau-villé, Haut-Rhin, Oct. 15, 1913; d. Strasbourg, April 4, 1989. He was educated at the Univ. of Strasbourg, receiving a degree in philosophy in 1937, taking the agrégation in German in 1948, and being awarded his Ph.D. in musicology in 1962 with the diss. Les Cailinet, facteurs d’orgues à Rouffach, et leur oeuvre en Alsace, publ, in Strasbourg, 1965. He was an authority on organs in Alsace, and contributed important articles for Les Cahiers de la Société d’Histoire de Saverne.
