Mazurek, Ronald
Mazurek, Ronald , American composer and teacher; b. Perth Amboy, N.J., Dec. 2, 1943. He received training in clarinet and piano at Montclair (N.J.) Coll. (B.A., 1966) and N.Y.U. (M.A., 1967), then completed his studies there in composition with Ghezzo (Ph.D., 1986). He taught composition at N.Y.U. (from 1982) and electronic music at William Paterson Coll. of N.J. in Wayne (from 1990); served as vice president of the Composers Guild of N.J. (1983–91) and as founder-director of the Fairleigh Dickinson Univ. Concerts of Contemporary Music (1984–90). In his music, he frequently integrates acoustic and electronic elements.
