Masini, Angelo
Masini, Angelo, Italian tenor; b. Terra del Sole, near Forli, Nov. 28, 1844; d. Forli, Sept. 26, 1926. He studied with Gilda Minguzzi, making his debut as Pollione in Norma in Finale Emilia (1867). He then sang throughout Italy, Spain, and Russia. He was chosen by Verdi to sing in the Requiem, appearing under Verdi’s direction in London, Paris, and Vienna in 1875. He gave his farewell stage performance in Paris in 1905. Among his finest roles were Count Almaviva, Don Ottavio, Faust, and Radames.
