Lunadquist, Torbjörn (Iwan)
Lunadquist, Torbjörn (Iwan), Swedish composer and conductor; b. Stockholm, Sept. 30, 1920; d. Grillby, July 1,2000. He received training in musicology at the Univ. of Uppsala, in composition from Wirén, and in conducting from Suitner in Salzburg and Vienna. He then was active as a conductor in Stockholm, and also appeared as a guest conductor throughout Europe. In 1978 he was awarded a government income to pursue composition. In his works, Lundquist utilized various styles and techniques, ranging from the traditional to the avant-garde, from jazz to Eastern music.
