Kochánski, Pawel [ Paul] Kochánski] (b Odessa, 1887; d NY, 1934). Polish violinist. Leader of Warsaw PO at 14 in 1901. Prof. of vn., Warsaw Cons. 1907–13, St Petersburg Cons. 1913–17, Kiev Cons. 1919–20. Amer. début NY 1921. Taught at Juilliard Sch. from 1924. Friend of Szymanowski whose Myths (1915) and 1st vn. conc. (1916) were written for him.
