Kelley, Jessie Stillman

Kelley, Jessie Stillman, American piano pedagogue; b. Chippewa Falls, Wise, 1866; d. Dallas, April 3, 1949. She studied piano with William Mason and X. Scharwenka, and theory with Edgar Stillman Kelley , whom she later married. She received an L.H.D. from Western Coll. in Oxford, Ohio, and a Litt.D. from Miami Univ. She taught piano in San Francisco, N.Y., and Berlin, and from 1910 to 1934 was director of music at Western Coll.
