Kartsev, Alexander , Russian composer; b. Moscow, July 19, 1883; d. there, July 3, 1953. He was a pupil of Taneyev and Glière in Moscow, and later of Juon in Berlin. His works included an opera, Undine, Sym., Violin Concerto, and chamber music.
