Hurlstone, William (Yeates) (b London, 1876; d London, 1906). Eng. composer and pianist. Soloist in own pf. conc., London, 1896. Wrote 12 chamber works, incl. str. qt. (1906), ballad Alfred the Great, and Fantasie-Variations on a Swedish Air (1903) for orch. Prof. of counterpoint RCM, from 1905.
