Glover, John William
Glover, John William, Irish composer; b. Dublin, June 19, 1815; d. there, Dec. 18, 1899. He studied in Dublin, and from 1848 taught vocal music at the Normal Training School of the Irish National Education Board and was also director of music in the Roman Catholic procathedral. He was noted for his promotion of choral music in Ireland. He ed. Moore’s Irish Melodies (1859).
