Fedoseyev, Vladimir (Ivanovich)
Fedoseyev, Vladimir (Ivanovich) , prominent Russian conductor; b. Leningrad, Aug. 5, 1932. He studied with N. Reznikov at the Gnesin Inst. in Moscow (graduated, 1957) and with L. Ginzburg at the Moscow Cons, (graduated, 1971). He conducted an orch. of native instruments (1959–74) and was principal conductor of the Grand Orch. of the All-Union Radio and Television in Moscow (from 1974). He is distinguished for his interpretations of 19th-century Russian music as well as for his work with indigenous music. In 1970 he was awarded the Glinka Prize, and in 1973 was made a National Artist of the Russian S.F.S.R.
