Du¨rr, Walther
Du¨rr, Walther, German musicologist; b. Berlin, April 27, 1932. He was educated at the Univ. of Tübingen, where he took his Ph.D. in 1956 with the diss. Studien zu Rhythmus und Metrum im italienischen Madrigal, insbesondere bei Luca Marenzio. From 1964 he was one of the editors of the new and exhaustive critical ed. of the works of Schubert. He also was a prof, at the Univ. of Tübingen from 1977. W. Aderhold and W. Litschauer ed. the vol. Zeichen-Setzung: Aufsatze zur musikalisch Poetik (Kassel, 1992) in honor of his 60th birthday.
