Davies, Ben (Grey) [ Benjamin Davies] (b Pontardawe, 1858; d Bath, 1943). Welsh tenor. Won prize at Swansea Eisteddfod, 1877. Début Birmingham 1881 in The Bohemian Girl. Sang with Carl Rosa and other opera cos. but after 1894 was chiefly to be heard in concerts and oratorio, particularly Handel Fests. at which he last sang in 1926.
