Cassirer, Fritz (b Breslau, 1871; d Berlin, 1926). Ger. conductor and writer. Held opera posts in Lübeck, Elberfeld (1903–5), and Berlin. Cond. f.p. of Delius's operas Koanga (Elberfeld 1904) and A Village Romeo and Juliet (Berlin 1907) and f.p. in Eng. of Delius's Appalachia (London, 1907). Selected words from Nietzsche's Also sprach Zarathustra for Delius's Mass of Life, which is dedicated to him.
